It’s no cakewalk as team Hurst dive in for a muddy good cause

Hurst Doors is a step nearer to its fundraising goal after colleagues took part in Get Caked, a five-mile muddy obstacle course to support Dove House Hospice, the manufacturer’s chosen charity for the year.

“I loved taking part …The Dove House team cheered us on all the way,” said business support assistant Charlotte Towle. “My favourite obstacle was the makeshift water slide, especially because we were all caked in mud from the previous challenge.

“It’s great that the team are getting involved in these events this year and also knowing it’s all to support a great cause.”

Group head of marketing Hayley Barker said: “Our partnership with Dove House Hospice allows us to not only raise funds but also foster a sense of purpose and unity among our team. We are honoured to support such a deserving cause.”

Hurst Doors recently announced its plan for a year of events in support of the charity https://www.the-glazine.com/?p=12416 . Before Get Caked, the company had hosted an in-house Bake-Off competition, followed by a Bake Sale, which contributed to the company’s fundraising goal of £2,500.

Jonny Bottomley, partnership development fundraiser at Dove House Hospice, said: “Hurst is doing it in the right way. They’re picking the right things to get that engagement and getting the most out of the partnership.”

Members of the Hurst team are gearing up for the Hull 10K later this month, a 12-mile pub-to-pub walk in August and a fire and ice challenge in October, where participants will walk over fire, ice, and cut glass. All funds raised will go towards the charity which has to raise over £10 million annually to keep its vital facilities and services running.
