Workers at disability employer Shelforce had every reason to cheer this week when they formally received the trophy and certificate for their winning the King’s Award last year.

West Midlands Lord Lieutenant Sir John Crabtree OBE visited the Erdington factory to make the presentation to business manager Howard Trotter and the workforce, adding to the long list of trophies and accolades the Birmingham City Council-owned fabricator has gained in recent years.

Sir John paid tribute to the special role of the company whose workforce is made up of around 75% people with disabilities, producing windows and doors for the council and others nearby.

Last year, Shelforce became one of the first companies to receive the honour from the new King in the first round of honours since the death of Queen Elizabeth https://www.the-glazine.com/?p=9125
