The Glass & Glazing Federation and Glazing Summit have this week published agendas and speakers for their respective annual events.

GGF guests will meet at Mercedes Benz World in Weybridge on Federation’s Members’ day next month when speakers will include Paul Nash, a previous President of the Chartered Institute of Buildings (CIOB) and Graeme Leach, CEO and Chief Economist at Macroeconomics.

Birmingham’s Edgbaston Stadium will once again be the venue for the Glazing Summit with an agenda including guest speakers, UK Economist Ed Johnstone and inspirational business speaker Brad Burton.

GGF head of advocacy & stakeholder relations Chris Beedel explained the relevance of the Members’ Day bookings: “Over the last 10 years, Graeme has made over 100 live television and radio appearances, including on BBC News, Sky News and Radio 4’s Today programme, talking about how businesses can better understand the future, today. He is renowned for predicting future trends and offering tried and tested management strategies.

“Meanwhile, Paul brings with him an impressive 35 years’ experience in senior corporate positions and involvement in government policies and working groups. Paul is particularly passionate and knowledgeable about ensuring quality industry-wide and building safety.”

More than 400 are expected at the Glazing Summit where, as well as the speakers, experts will discuss the looming Future Homes Standard and new Building Regulations, including Document Q, while organisers say new initiatives will be announced to tackle the skills shortage and perceptions of the industry.

Andrew Scott, founder of the Glazing Summit, said: “At a time of further regulatory change and evolving consumer demands, the glazing industry finds itself at a pivotal crossroads.

“This year we want to not only inform, but also provide steps we can all take to enable real change in the industry. And with world class insight and keynote speakers, it’s set to be another crucial event for our industry.”

The GGF Members’ Day will be on Sep 26. The Glazing Summit takes place on October 12.
