For better or worse
Any follower of statistical records could be forgiven a hint of confusion this week with construction figures showing a record low at the same time as hopeful house sellers hitting a record high, then an industry report telling us that things are pretty much flat – and looking set to stay that way in the immediate future.
Of course, the consistent message here is that there will always be winners and losers and while things may be getting tougher for some in the commercial sector, the retrofitters are looking gleefully to hear from all those hordes of house movers eager to make the most of their new homes.
