MD McAllister departs GGF
after five months
15th May 2018

Shaun McAllister today confirmed to The Glazine that, as of yesterday, he is no longer managing director of the Glass & Glazing Federation.

The move – only days after the organisation was still quoting him as MD in press releases – is the latest in a succession of board and top-level departures in a little over two years including a former MD, two successive presidents, two CEOs, and the MD and CEO of two of the GGF’s subsidiary bodies.

McAllister today told The Glazine: “If there is any good to come out of this, then I do hope that the members will rise and take back control of their Trade organisation.

“I’m passionate about what the GGF is and what it should be for its members; they deserve better. It could be and should be a great institution and it pains me to know that it is not fulfilling its potential.”

He continued “However, there are numerous current and historical issues related to the decision making and behaviour of the GGF Board. These issues serve as a permanent cloud hanging over the organisation which restricts it from serving its members.

“Alas the members do not know what is going on or what has happened in the past. In my view, until GGF Board acknowledges its issues and comes clean to its members, it will never move on.”
