Sound reasoning

It was Vic Reeves who famously said ‘88.2% of all statistics are made up on the spot’ and of course any opinion poll on any subject may have a hint of straw about it so we may have no exact marker to show the growth of homeowners’ interest in sound insulation up to this point.

But that should not detract from the fact that consumers are starting to put more thought into it, whether it is seen in this week’s report or simply the number of times the issue comes up in showroom questions. It was of course, one of the original selling points of the legendary double-glazing sales patter right back to Ted Moult’s day but only as a monolithic fact rather than a comparative figure, and things are clearly moving on since then.

It will be interesting to see how the issue develops from here – and we would of course be interested to hear any real feedback, especially where deal-making decisions may be involved.

And on that note, we ever so quietly hope you enjoy this week’s issue.
