Firstly, there is little point speculating here what the Chancellor might or might not have in store in the Spring Budget because within less than 24 hours, all crystal ball gazing will be redundant – and he will probably have proven once again that in the era of Trump and Brexit, there really is absolutely no point in trying to forecast anything.
A little more certain is that the announcement of the FIT Show Seminar programme means the run-up to the event is now in full swing, something confirmed by the growing trickle of news from exhibitors about what will be on show. Read Story

Timber windows for life cycle launch
The world’s first life cycle assessments calculated through the new BRE LINA tool are due to be unveiled at Ecobuild today (Tuesday, Mar 7), with two timber windows – the Stormsure Timber Casement Window by JELD-WEN and the Conservation Casement Window by Mumford and Wood – due to become the first products to receive LINA assessments.
The British Woodworking Federation says it is the first customer worldwide for BRE LINA.

UK house prices rising steadily
Annual house price growth edged up slightly to 4.5% last month, according to figures from Nationwide.
Robert Gardner, its Chief Economist, said: “Recent data suggests that the UK economy has continued to perform relatively strongly. The economy accelerated slightly in Q4, expanding by a healthy 0.7% quarter-on-quarter, and the unemployment rate remained stable at an 11-year low of 4.8%.
