Cold comfort

It seems that neither the building trade nor the house market can catch a cold without the window industry sneezing so the news from both those sectors this week must be about as warming as the weather forecast. As the FMB points out, materials price increases may lead builders to cut their cloth in aspects of a project Read Story. And no one in this industry needs reminding how moving house can turn the mind to home improvement, so such a drastic drop in houses going on the market will have the inevitable knock-on effect.

However, clearly not all is gloom in the industry as we are pleased to bring you another sprinkling of very optimistic end of year results to add to last week’s crop.

…and just a week after seeing in the New Year with the futuristic view of automatic windows we now step even further into the brave new world with ‘smart windows’ and even references to Artificial Intelligence with the news of the tie up between Velux and ‘smart home’ company Netatmo.
