So, no surprise then, that after 20 years in the market, one of the first companies to enter the UK PVC-U window market - Schüco - is withdrawing from the PVC market to concentrate on its aluminium and steel systems. And no surprise either that Deceuninck cites the UK as 'a cause for concern' in reporting static volumes in the first quarter of this year. On the plus side, Deceuninck has raised its expectations on the full year, in anticipation of the continued success of the US market, which is flying, and the returns expected from the successful rollout of zendow throughout Europe. In another example of repositioning, Veka has flogged off its ancillary business, Vekatrim, to Celuform. |
