Who's Going Up, Who's Going Down?
Not such good news from the sharp end this week, with indications that Anglian is beginning to dig in in the face of a clear and present downturn in its markets. Chief Exec Larry Condon had flagged up the decline as long ago as last November, and one of the reasons given was the European Working Time Directive, which limits the amount of hours staff can work in one stretch. The window maker has curtailed overtime in Norwich and is discussing the future of some staff at its Port Talbot plant.

Brian Kennedy comes highest at 231 (he was 217 last year), with a reported £208m, while level pegging at 458 is Gary Dutton and family (up from 466) and Joe Moore (ex-WMS, down from 384). The Litchfields bring up the rear at No 583, Kevin McDonald (ex-Polypipe) at 641 and Jim Rawson at 691. A new entry is Dean St John of Planet who creeps in at 916th with a fortune of £52m.

Several events need flagging up this week: the next PIGS event will be in London on 28th April and the GM Fundraising ‘Top to Bottom’ Bike Ride starts rolling on June 9th from John O'Groats. This charity ride is supported by Status Systems and hopes to raise at least £40,000 for Hope House.
