Some of the more interesting products were those slightly outside the normal orbit of the replacement window and glazing markets. For example, Ubbink has introduced two excellent products: a solar panel for the roof and a dormer which can be installed in a day. Likewise, Velux offered a flat roof version of its well known loft windows. And the reason these products particularly impressed isn't just because I am considering having the loft done!

Deceuninck Advert

In fact, the Ubbink SoloSun was one of the Award winning products at this year's Interbuild Product Awards, along with Alumet's Avon Dry Wall Beam. Another shortlisted product was the FAAC automatic door operator which was a contender in the Disability Access Award category. The Disability Access section of the show, which also featured Sheerline ramps and Stannah stairlifts, among other things, proved to be a timely and popular part of the show.

Readers can, of course, expect a bumper news issue next week, although if we have missed any important launches at Interbuild, we will be only too pleased to include them. Please send editorial to news@the-glazine.com.
