Ollie the out-of-work guard dog is back on social media in a second campaign by AVOCET HARDWARE to alert homeowners to the rise in burglaries during the winter months.
The cartoon canine who first appeared in July to warn of a rise in burglaries during the summer Read Story is now joined by Kat, a cat burglar who was also made redundant by Ollie’s owners fitting the company’s ABS locks.
Marketing manager Derrick Purvis said: “It’s become a horrible, but sadly accepted fact that the only people who look forward to the clocks going backs are the burglars, who gleefully get back to work with the kind of enthusiasm the rest of us normally reserve for the long, light nights of Spring and Summer.”
“There are though a few simple things homeowners can do to protect their properties against unwanted visitors during the dark nights, and our #StayHomeSecure campaign will spell these out, while also giving everyone who follows it the chance to have a bit of fun and plenty of chances to win some great prizes – including, exclusively commissioned campaign artwork.
“Ollie was a great hit during our summer campaign, and up and coming cartoonist, Robert Leach has once again excelled himself with his work for #StayHomeSecure. Those who get their hands on his exclusive artwork really will be in luck.”
