More good news for conservatories
23rd June 2020

Things are looking decidedly rosy for conservatory sales after lockdown, according to figures from the GGF, which has seen searches on its MyGlazing.com consumer site  up by two thirds as well as online searches gaining over a quarter last month.

The announcement follows the research from member company Purplex which highlighted record upturns in web searches for many home improvement categories including conservatories read story.

It is also supported by the findings at Anglian, also a GGF member. Phil Goult, its head of conservatory development as well as chairman of the GGF Conservatory Association said:, “We have noticed a spike in the interest and I think that the recent lockdown, people working from home and having to stay indoors has perhaps made them consider more home improvements. It is early days but encouraging signs and we will have to see if the interest materializes into sales and installations.”

The Federation  says homeowners may also be seeing an advantage to home improvements where the workers have less need to come into the home.
Its analysis has shown:

• Average Google searches using keywords for information about Conservatories is 216,670 per month. In the month of May, the figures jumped to 276, 720 searches. An increase of 28%.

• Visits to the MyGlazing.com conservatories’ webpage have also jumped by almost 70% in the last month with approx. 100 unique page views per day.

James Lee, GGF Director of External Affairs concluded “The signs are very positive and the increase can be attributed to several factors. The fine weather, the need for more home space with more people working from home, greater appreciation of the home and many homeowners having cash in their pockets after months of lockdown and low spending. The GGF is currently carrying out consumer research to get even greater insights into the conservatory sector and the home improvement market in general.”
