Still on the international front, we hear that the Residence Collection and Window Widgets are returning to UK ownership after a buy-out from US-based Masonite International by its management team. Read more

Less good news on the continuing troubles of the glass industry where Panoramic Group has been forced to stem losses at Pano Glass by placing it into administration. However, group MD Alan Rees has assured that the rest of the group remains in good health with all operations continuing to trade as usual.

The Pavilion, with its  80m2 space on the main thoroughfare between Halls 3 and 4, will again be the number one destination for visiting UK companies, says the organisation, when an estimated 100,000-plus professionals from all over Europe and beyond gather in Nuremberg on 18-21 March.

Regardless of any individual political persuasions, the general election has delivered a level of clarity. We know what sort of Government we can and expect and we know that we will leave the EU on the 31st of January with a ‘deal’.

It’s why the Pound has rallied against the dollar and the Euro. We have a sense of direction and the uncertainty which has led to a freeze on investment and growth, is perhaps at last behind us.

Where we go now is very much down to the new administration. In the hiatus of the general election campaign it made a series of pledges on which it now must deliver.
