Welcome to the 100th Edition of The Gl@zine
There are Lies, Damned Lies and there are Statistics. Responding to our comments about GP&T last week, the show organiser has stated that 'the number of actual visitors is almost irrelevant' and who are we to disagree? However, this is the 100th Edition of The Gl@zine, and we feel that a few facts and figures (trying to avoid the word statistics here), may be in order, and we regard our visitors as very relevant...

OPERATIONS DIRECTOR - BARNSLEY
Sash, one of the most advanced window, door and conservatory fabricators in the UK, with an average order book about to exceed 2,500 windows and 50 conservatories per week, is looking for an Operations Director. Veka Advert
We passed our second anniversary earlier this month, having launched The Gl@zine on November 13th 2001. Since that time, we have been helped on our way by over 60 forward thinking companies who have supported us with their advertising; and we have justified their spend by sending out a weekly newsletter, containing between 40-60 new items each week (today's Gl@zine, for example, contains 54 completely new items) to over 10,000 subscribers from the glass and window industry.
Deceuninck Advert

However, the story does not end there: many more readers simply log on to The Gl@zine website, which now contains 1,370 pages of the very latest information, from which there are a staggering 7,982 links to relevant industry websites and email contacts. No wonder 32,431 Unique Visitors have dropped by on the website since the beginning of this year and in the process have looked at over 130,000 pages between them.

Anyway, enough of blowing our own trumpet: we are but a humble conduit between various parts of a business we are very proud to be a part of. However, if you want more of this kind of number crunching, drop me a mail and I will give you chapter and verse.

Rugby World Cup Finally, and without wanting to cause offence to any of the losing sides in the sporting tournament of the decade which was the IRB Rugby World Cup, I would like add our voice to the rising crescendo of congratulations to the England team as they return home today. However, the real winner of this tournament was the game of rugby itself, and respect is due to Oz and the IRB for putting on such a fantastic event.

Ronnie Rossall to Jump from 15,000ft at 125mph - but only if YOU pledge Money to Kids Charity

WE HAVE EMAIL...

GPT - Did the Organiser 'Fail to Deliver?'
Dear Tony, I opened [last] weeks issue of The Glazine eagerly anticipating your glowing review of the biggest exhibition launch at the NEC for six years. An event at which some exhibitors made sales totalling six figures by the end of the first morning; an event that proved so worthwhile for those involved that by the end of the third day more exhibition space had been sold for the next GP&T in 2005 than was sold for this one. You can imagine my disappointment to see the words 'the organisers failed to deliver' in your opening comments.

Lots of Grins (Smug and Other Sorts) at GP&T
The people from Hegla, in the search for a sales driver for its new UK arm, wore smug grins as signed orders mounted to 'a nice six figure sum', with the first taken within minutes of the doors opening on the first day. 'We are on record for our support for GP&T, and one of the first to book a stand. But we could never have predicted just how good it would be,'said MD Steve Goble. Quotes and pictures from the show.
