'Atmosphere Excellent' at Glassex 2007

Glassex 2007 is underway at the NEC Birmingham, and we have the following comments from the show organiser:

'The morning in particular started with a buzz and, although the afternoon was quieter – we have come to expect that of course – overall our exhibitors were in very good spirits. We were delighted with the general appearance of the show and with how much effort exhibitors have put in to their displays. This year’s Glassex is certainly a very good looking show and the atmosphere has been excellent. Most exhibitors and visitors we spoke to were very pleased with the first day. This was especially true of the smaller exhibitors of which there are some great new additions this year, with some very interesting new products and services. It is a very tight and cohesive show with some excellent features such as the Energy Efficiency Zone.

'Glassex in recent years has been a constantly changing entity and one that has become increasingly difficult to predict; where once there were some quite clear patterns we have learned that it is no longer possible to anticipate how the show will behave and this has been true again for the first day. But the key is that exhibitors tell us that what has been a constant factor is that the quality of visitors they have seen has been excellent, all professional buyers and many company owners. All in all a good first day.'

We have more news from the first day and a half; the results of the Conservatory Design Competition have been announced, with Sash doing particularly well in picking up two Gold, one bronze and the overall winner awards. Franklyn Windows also did well. Full results below.

Please have a good look at the detailed information in this special Glassex Show issue, which features some late breaking stand news, plus new product launches, to help in your decision if you are still wondering whether to make the effort to get up to the NEC.

We also publish details of the remaining Seminars, as well as a full schedule of speakers taking part in the Forum, more details of both below. The show ends on Wednesday 4pm
.
