Green apple for Halo

WHS Halo has won a Green Apple Award for Environmental Best Practice for its energy efficient windows.

Its design uses patented thermal insert technology to deliver affordable A-rated windows that save energy and carbon.

Joanne Holland (pictured right), CEO of WHS Halo, was presented with the award by fomer Bond-girl Alexandra Bastedo at a ceremony at the House of Commons, hosted by The Rt Hon Patricia Hewitt MP. The company has also been named a National Green Hero, which means its energy efficient windows will be showcased around the world as an example of environmental best practice. WHS Halo will be presented with a Green Hero Wall Shield during a special prizegiving ceremony at the Tower of London next year.

As a Green Apple Award winner, WHS Halo has also been nominated to represent the UK on the international stage at the European Business Awards for the Environment.

Now in their 16th year, the Green Apple Awards attracted more than 500 nominations this year. The awards are organised by The Green Organisation, an independent non-profit environment group, and are designed to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice.

Commenting on the award, WHS Halo sales and marketing director Dave Mulholland said: “This is a tremendous achievement which recognises the massive investment we are making in developing low energy, low carbon solutions.
