First grade addition

K2 recently helped to add an additional meeting room to the Grade I listed Moresby Hall in Cumbria, thanks to its aluminium roof system.

The ‘T’ shaped aluminium roof system with internal golden oak cappings also included a number of K2’s own high performance roof vents and featured a distinctive finial, but with a no cresting option by way of a slide in track to the ridge cap.

The roof was glazed in Celsius and sat on timber window and door frames and, along with the conservatory base, was designed to satisfy the stringent requirements of the local planning officer. Gold spacer bar and the use of the tie bars for the roof blinds also contributed to a very highly specified installation.

Moresby Hall is one of Cumbria’s most historic homes and is a Grade I listed building which dates back to circa 1620. Today it is an intimate and luxury Country Guesthouse with an enviable five star grading and Gold award.

This historic building retains many of the original features and the new conservatory will not only be used as a meeting room for up to 20 guests but is also licensed for small weddings.  This additional space can also cater for guests for pre dinner drinks receptions, cookery demonstrations and speaker groups – a versatile and productive venue.
