Showing off green

The Epwin Group will be showcasing its range of advanced sustainable and energy efficient PVC-U products at Ecobuild 2010.

This will include its pioneering new window, which – manufactured from PVC-U profile made entirely from recycled material and installed commercially in social housing in Manchester – scooped the Best Recycled Product Award at the National Recycling Awards 2009.

Other group products on show will include the low carbon rainwater system from Swish Building Products. Manufactured from 84% recycled material the rainwater pipe and gutter range produce 70% less CO2 than would be created in manufacture from virgin material.

Jim Rawson, chairman, the Epwin Group said: “The Epwin Group is fully committed to working in partnership with all those with an interest in the construction industry, whether residential new build, social housing refurbishment or home improvement, to deliver more sustainable but also warmer and more secure homes.

“In pursuit of this aim we have and continue to invest in an extensive research and development programme, to deliver a new advanced generation of products. At the same time we continually review our own house keeping operation to drive efficiency and minimise the impact of our businesses on the environment.”
