Made-in-Italy plays a leading role at Düsseldorf
Gimav, the Association of Italian manufacturers and suppliers of machinery, equipment and special products for glass processing, has once again demonstrated its leadership role at Glasstec 2008 in Düsseldorf, Germany, which closed its doors on October 25, on a successful note. With 20 years of participation at Glasstec under its belt, the Italian Association has become an established point of reference for the entire industry because it widely promotes the culture of Italian-made products and its uniqueness in markets around the world.
The conspicuous space allotted by Glasstec to the members of Gimav -- approximately 15,000 sq. m. -- was set aside to host the leading Italian firms specialized in the manufacture of glass-processing machinery. An entire Pavilion (hall 16) was assigned to the Italian flat glass companies and was sought out by crowds of visitors from all parts of the globe. Equally popular with the visiting public were the Italian firms in the hollow glass sector, located in a portion of Pavilion 14.
The showcase created by Gimav for the Association’s more than 60 member exhibitors conveyed the atmosphere of a strong, cohesive and stable group comprising large group firms as well as SMEs, which are often considered the backbone of the industry. This is an industrial sector that continues to enjoy a positive business trend despite the economic crisis building over the last few months. High quality standards ensured by Italian technological know how, as in the past, still make the difference and also make it possible to remain highly competitive in the marketplace.
Glasstec was also the venue for the official presentation of Vitrum 2009 to the international media. The trade show specialized in machinery, equipment and systems for flat, bent and hollow glass, and in glass and processed products for industry is set to take place at the Fiera Milano facilities from October 28th to 31st, 2009. A biennial exhibition of undisputed prestige, Vitrum is already bursting with innovations in both the industrial and artistic fields.
