RIDE 4 HOPE’S YELLOW FELLOW

It was near impossible to pick out a single individual rider from the Ride 4 Hope team, but Conservatory Outlet’s John Olkiewicz was voted rider of the tour by his peers on the epic cycling adventure across the USA.

John was praised by fellow riders for being the ‘fittest non-professional rider’ and his overall contribution to morale and daily duties. Never one to shy away from a challenge he also joined Iain McInnes and Yvonne McGregor on an evening/night ride in Arizona at an altitude of 8,000 feet above sea level when the whole team was in danger of not finishing the leg. This was a valuable contribution on behalf of all those associated with the ride and helped get us back on track.

Gary Morton from GM Fundraising presented him with a signed yellow jersey in true Tour De France style and commented: “The riders were unanimous in voting for John, his contribution was significant both on and off the bike and he was a huge asset to the team. Teamwork, commitment and effort were evident throughout the trip from everyone, but there’s only one really winner and that’s Hope House and the children and families associated with it.”
