Certass Ltd is returning to Glassex 2009 with eager anticipation, following the outstanding success of last year’s show. The company is a Government approved competent person scheme for self-assessment of double-glazing installations in England and Wales. This is the Fourth consecutive time at Glassex for the company that was launched in 2006, and according to MD, Marketing and Operations Director Barrie Smith-Wright, the industry is in an optimum state to receive what he has to offer.

“Last year’s exhibition was undoubtedly successful for us,” he comments. “For the first time we offer installers real choice if they elect to self-assess their installations, and this has been extremely well received in an industry that is finding the economic climate hard at the moment. We have been averaging between 50 and 60 contractors enquiring to join our scheme on a monthly basis, and we are attracting these members through a variety of mediums. Glassex is an integral part of this process.

“What makes the exhibition so attractive is the quality of the visitor – the nature of Certass’ services targets both the public and the trade, and the steady stream of Glassex enquiries were serious ones.” Barrie was so impressed by the high standard of enquiries throughout the 2008 show that he immediately booked up for 2009. “Our stand was in an excellent position, very near the front entrance and visitors found us easily, so we decided that as the location was perfect, we would take advantage and book up for the next show there and then, which is a measure of how highly we rate the opportunities that Glassex offers.”

As the advantages of the Certass scheme becomes more familiar in the industry and with the public, interest has grown and by exhibiting at Glassex, the company has the perfect forum to target their audience and welcome visitors to the benefits of the Certass offering.

“Certass typifies 2009’s show perfectly because their offering is all about bettering business opportunity and building relationships between our industry and the consumer, giving those visiting the stand a tangible solution that can be used in their daily business practices immediately,” comments Marketing Manager for Glassex, Heather Kerr. “There is no better time for them to make a return to the floor-plan. We are delighted to see them commit to next year!”

Glassex 2009 will be held on 17-19 March at the NEC, Birmingham and is the only exhibition dedicated to the UK glass and glazing markets. Featuring the best in doors, windows, conservatories, manufacturing technology, insulated glass, installation equipment and a host of other related products and services, it has served the UK glass and fenestration sector for nearly 30 years. Through economic boom and recession, Glassex has introduced visitors to exhibitors with new products and services, new suppliers and new areas of opportunity, helping to define and increase the market. As the industry has evolved, so has the exhibition and in addition to the existing successful features, seminars and competitions, 2009 will see a host of new features and initiatives to meet the needs of the market.
