Bohle Launches New Kilns for Autoclave-free Lamination
Bohle, the UK arm of the European manufacturer and supplier of tools, machines and accessories for glass processing and finishing, has introduced the Verifix Airstream series, an range of kilns for manufacturing laminated safety glass in an autoclave-free process. Bohle has significantly revised and improved the process used in its new kilns, which is similar to that used in the manufacture of display or photovoltaic modules and in the structural and automotive glass industries.
The development significantly reduces the investment required for the manufacturer of laminated glass. With the launch of the Bohle Verifix Airstream series, it is now possible for small and medium-sized glass processors to produce laminated glass without autoclaves or climate chambers.
Examples of typical products that can be produced with the aid of the Verifix Airstream kilns are: glass design elements with printed or coloured films or special papers on the inside for interior settings or creative shopfitting; combinations of glass with steel, stainless steel or wood for premium furniture construction or elements for building façades and balustrades; laminated safety glass made of tempered or semi-tempered glass; or glass with technically sensitive function films like LED or LCD films (liquid crystal) or even embedded photovoltaic elements.
