Total Windows are beautiful in black

Top quality black and white PVC-U windows supplied by Total Glass, one of the UK’s leading trade fabricators, have transformed the appearance and thermal efficiency of a former doctor’s home in North Wales.

Foiled on the outside and white on the inside to keep the interior light, the 26 new casement and two bay windows, were installed by locally-based Flintshire Windows. They replaced end-of-life timber ones, some of which were originally installed at the large 100-year-old property at Connah’s Quay, Flintshire.

All windows were manufactured by Total Glass using the Profile 22 FS70 system and recycled composite material (RCM) reinforcement with K-glass insulated units for superior thermal and weather performance. Additionally, square lead detailing in the glass has ensured a sympathetic match in keeping with the substantial family home’s character.

Being able to supply the exact specification in terms of a ‘seamless match’ with the old windows was crucial in satisfying the customer’s requirements, says Alec Garratt, of Flintshire Windows. “As the windows had to be black, Total Glass really helped us in supplying these with a foiled, textured finish that replicates the look of timber and really complements the property’s external appearance. The result speaks for itself!”

Doctor’s daughter and present owner Miss Bernadette Gavin, who has lived at the house for 60 years, is delighted, saying: “The house is a lot warmer, quieter and because it was possible to have modern windows in black, they are also a perfect match and absolutely superb. Any other colour would have ruined the look of the house. Flintshire Windows shined above the rest with an efficient and excellent job.”
