Three steps to zero carbon homes with the Litchfield Group at Ecobuild
UK building products manufacturer The Litchfield Group, will be showcasing its range of sustainable and energy efficient windows, doors and structural wall products for low carbon buildings at EcoBuild.
Managing director James Litchfield said: “Reducing carbon dioxide emissions, lowering fuel bills and improving the insulation of buildings drives our product development programme. We have invested in the development of products that are providing solutions today - well in advance of the Zero Carbon Homes requirements of 2016.”
The Group’s three step solution comprises its Sheerframe HED window system, made to measure Masterdor Thermal door-sets and ICF Tech structural walls.
Sheerframe HED (Homogenous Energy Dynamics), the new thermally superior PVC window system, delivers U-values as low as 0.8W/m2K. Manufactured in the UK specifically for the UK market, the mainstream lead-free windows are available now in the most popular sizes and styles, and at substantially less cost than European equivalents. They can also be fitted by a network of regional fabricators and installers, experienced in the social housing and private sectors for both refurbishment and newbuild projects.
The 55mm insulated timber engineered Masterdor Thermal door-set has a U-value of 1.0W/m2K. It achieves the highest weather exposure category on the market of 800 Special and provides excellent sound reduction, while being low maintenance and Secured By Design accredited. As a made to measure door, the Masterdor Thermal can be designed in an architectural style that is appropriate to its setting and is available in the widest range of sizes and colours.
The only Insulating Concrete Form (ICF) system designed exclusively for the UK market is the ICF Tech system. As with all Litchfield Group products the ICF Tech system is a British made sustainable product, specifically designed for UK properties. The system is supplied and fitted by a specialist team and combines speed and efficiency of construction with outstanding thermal, air infiltration and acoustic performance, along with A+ eco credentials. An ICF building can look like any other by adding brick slips systems, timber cladding or flexible renders.
The ICF Tech system has excellent eco credentials in terms of thermal efficiency, use of recycled materials, low U-values and the ability to reduce the ongoing CO2 emissions of the building.
ICF Tech walls, thermally efficient Sheerframe HED windows and made-to-measure airtight Masterdor Thermal door-sets are just some of the advancements that are currently available from The Litchfield Group of Companies.
