Fab & Fix launches high security lock cylinder

Leading hardware specialist Fab & Fix has enhanced its Security Conscious range of door products with a new anti-bump, anti-snap and anti-drill security cylinder that offers a competitively-priced solution to concerns over current cylinder vulnerabilities.

With its solid brass forged construction, special six-pin and anti-drill properties, the Fab & FixLock Security Cylinder provides unrivalled levels of security and reliable performance - it has a worldwide patent pending on its external anti-tamper features.

Thoroughly tested by the Master Locksmith Association, the cylinder has undergone lifetime testing to 100,000 cycles and is made to DIN standards. An added benefit is that it does not require an additional cylinder guard to meet PAS 24 requirements. Additionally, the cylinder has been tested to BS EN1303:2005 and to the highest Grade 2 standard on attack.

Lock ‘bumping’ is the term used to describe a simple method of releasing a lock with minimal effort, using readily available tools and leaving no visible sign of attack. Victims of this process of gaining entry to a property can potentially experience problems with their insurance companies as it can be argued that the crime can be difficult to prove.
