beaufortSuperglazed secures certification with Beaufort

Superglazed Ltd is the latest fabricator of Beaufort’s ‘A’ rated Advanced Plus aluminium system to achieve BSI Kitemark and Secured by Design (SBD) accreditation. The North West London company benefited from Beaufort’s Approved Certification Scheme, set up to help its customers ‘fast track’ to accreditation, subject to replicating the systems company’s submissions. As the Beaufort System is already Kitemark and SBD approved, only the manufactured window has to be tested which makes the process quicker and less costly.

Being awarded ISO 9000 in 2007 prompted Superglazed to pursue Kitemark and SBD registration in its quest to provide top quality products that satisfy today’s stringent building regulations and planning requirements. Hasu Parmar, Director of Superglazed, says Beaufort’s encouragement and guidance played a key role in the company’s recent certification success. He comments: “Beaufort’s team has provided tremendous support with further refinement of our manufacturing procedures and establishing an approved materials supply chain. With their help we were able to complete the whole process in just over six months.”

SBD accreditation requires security products to undergo testing by an accredited, third party testing body to certify that they meet quality standards identified by the Association of Chief Police Officers as providing a realistic level of resistance to criminal attack. Similarly, the Kitemark licence is a visible assurance of quality and gives companies a major competitive advantage in an increasingly challenging marketplace.

Summing up, Hasu Parmar says Superglazed’s latest quality accreditations are already having a positive impact on the business. He comments: “Being an approved supplier of Beaufort’s ‘A’ rated aluminium system and having our own Kitemark and Secured by Design registration is opening up new contract opportunities and we’ve just won a large order as a direct result of our membership of the SBD scheme.”

Superglazed was established in 1997 and moved to a new state-of-the-art production facility in North West London’s Park Royal in 2003. The company is a long-time member of Beaufort Secure Design’s Approved Fabricator scheme and offers a comprehensive choice of aluminium windows and doors alongside its PVC-U product range to both the domestic and commercial markets.
