The AluK Installation of the Month winner for June was a new-build holiday home in the village of Brundall, on the banks of the River Yare in the Norfolk Broads.

Completed by fabricator/installersAluminium Windows and Doors Ltd (AWD) of Wymondham, near Norwich, it was chosen because of its use of AluK products, including an Optio BSF70 open out bi-fold door, two sets of Optio 58BD French doors and a large glazed gable 58BW window – all in Anthracite Grey.

managing director Trevor Westbrook Lay recommended the products to the owners, who were replacing a run-down lodge on the site with a new steel framed, cedar clad home raised on stilts to avoid potential flooding. Their priority was unrestricted views of the river with as much natural light as possible and, when they came to see the AluK products in AWD’s show area, they were impressed by the slim sightlines and the overall service package available.

AluK’s marketing director Sioned Webb said: “This is arguably the best example we’ve seen yet in the competition of how beautifully our products can frame a view. What better way to appreciate the Norfolk Broads than through AluK frames.”

Aluminium Windows and Doors sent in-house photographer John Doyle to take the photos of the completed installation with a view to using them on the company’s own website.
