‘Largest high security project’
31st January 2017

WRIGHTSTYLE has completed a project in Saudi Arabia, installing 2,000 square metres of external protection to VIP areas of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, in what the company believes it is one of the largest high-level security projects ever specified.

The system not only had to accommodate extremely thick and heavy glass and resist a high-level attack, it also had to span a double floor height and fit within a limited glazing zone so as to integrate with the standard glazing used adjacent to it.

“Our SR60 curtain wall system met all the specified challenges, with its 4mm thick steel profiles,” said Wrightstyle technical director Lee Coates.

“Our comprehensive test data for security applications allowed us to specify for the project, and to then conduct project-specific testing to substantiate its performance.”
The King Faisal hospital, an international centre of excellence, had been undergoing building development to house facilities for cancer and liver disease, a National Biotechnology Center and a Royal wing.

Wrightstyle has recently also supplied to hotel and infrastructure projects in Qatar, a major retail project in the Lebanon and was a supplier to the Dubai Metro.  The company has also supplied to projects across the UAE and Egypt It also currently supplying to a project in the USA and to a major arts institute in Hong Kong.
