Flat transformation
Westview Windows has demonstrated the potential of the Rehau Polytec 50S composite curtain walling system in high rise applications with a major contract for Morris & Spottiswood in Glasgow city centre.
The Rehau Polytec 50S system has been used to add an architectural design feature to eight blocks at Dundasvale Court, managed by Glasgow Housing Association.
The curtain walling has transformed the external appearance of the 1960s built flats with attractive arched detailing and night time illumination using coloured lights.
Morris & Spottiswood was appointed by GHA to carry out extensive external refurbishment to help the flats satisfy the Scottish Housing Quality Standards and the work involved overall roof renewal, external fabric upgrade and the addition of insulated render.
Westview had worked extensively with Morris & Spottiswood in the past and recommended Rehau Polytec 50S as a cost effective means of achieving the aesthetic improvements required.
