Two decades and Still Going

The Stuga Autocut automatic saw centre is celebrating 20 years in the window industry, and there are nearly 200 in existence.

Stuga claims that its machines do not become obsolete because the company engineers new work-arounds for any electronic or software issues that occur over time, meaning none have ever been scrapped. Mechanical parts are available off the shelf and manufactured parts can be produced in Stuga’s own machine shop.

The Stuga cuts mitres, straight cuts and arrowheads fully automatically from bar lengths loaded to the multi bar infeed which then feed automatically into the machine. The operator is told what bars to load from the office software system either directly online or by USM memory stick and the information appears on a colour monitor.

The Autocut re-optimises the loaded batches to get the best possible optimisation and also controls offcuts to keep them to an absolute minimum. The onboard label printer allows pieces to be clearly identified as they leave the machine.

All Stuga Autocut saw centres come with label printer, offcut conveyor and dust extractor. New and refurbished machines also come with Microsoft Windows operating system. All installations include proper training for health and safety, maintenance and fault finding.
