Secure french doors

Rockdoor’s new french doors have passed the standards set by Secured by Design.

The independent tests for Secured by Design were filmed by Rockdoor, so customers and homeowners can see exactly what a set of french doors has to go through to gain such accreditation.

The video – which can be viewed on Rockdoor’s website www.rockdoor.com/making-of-french-doors.php – has already been extensively watched.

The doors have undergone rigorous testing and have passed Document L building regulations, which come into force in October 2010. The new legislation requires all doors, including french doors, to achieve a U-value of below 1.8 W/m²K.

Mark Simm, Rockdoor’s sales director said: “We expected our new french doors to fly past the Secured by Design testing standards, but we’re delighted that our doors also achieved a low U-Value in accordance with the new regulations. This will be particularly beneficial to Rockdoor french door installers, as others, who install standard and timber french doors, may struggle to comply with this imminent legislation.”
