Extrusion press upgrade

EXLABESA EXTRUSIONS has invested in a 35 MN extrusion press from SMS group to replace its existing 20 MN unit at its Doncaster factory.

The new press will enable the company to improve energy efficiency because it uses start-stop technology that enables average energy savings of 10%. It will also improve quality with a feature that will lower the risk of air inclusions in the extruded profile. Director Fernando Quinta said: “This investment will enable us to upgrade our plant and continue to deliver the outstanding quality our growing customer base relies on.”

Commissioning of the extrusion press is planned for the beginning of 2019.
