No more zinc

WINLOCK SECURITY has dropped zinc-plated and pvd-coated handles from its range and now offers a full suite of stainless steel door hardware following its launch of a letterbox and a face-fixed escutcheon.

Managing Director Alan Parker said: “We are continually being asked for a 10-year surface finish guarantee on door hardware which we are simply unable to provide on zinc handles. We have therefore taken the decision to drop zinc plated or pvd coated zinc handles from our range and concentrate on supplying stainless steel products which we know will give the corrosion resistance our customers and end users seek – even in exposed coastal environments.

“As a result we are now pleased to be able to offer 10-year or more surface finish guarantees across our entire range of door handles and letterplates”. All its products carry a 15-year surface finish guarantee, with the option of Marine Grade versions for all handles and door pulls, which carry a 25-year surface finish guarantee.
