Integral blinds from IGU manufacturer HITECH BLINDS have been supplied by Millennium Windows and Conservatories into the renovation of a 1970s-built detached home in St Peter’s, Jersey.
Steve Rushton, Sales Manager, Millennium Windows and Conservatories, said the job was originally for an extension but grew to include replacing windows and doors throughout, including HiTech Blinds in anthracite grey to match Smart Visofold bi-folds and Alitherm aluminium windows.
The project included the adaptation of the bi-folding doors at the front of the property from the original four sash design to three so that doors could be folded at the customer’s request at a single end of the opening. This meant the specification of integral blinds within sash units of 1200mm wide.
“At 1200mm wide the bifold sashes were very large and on the limits of design capability but the blinds operate with hardly any effort and run exceptionally smoothly, so we and the end customer have been very pleased with how they’ve performed”, Steve added, “For us it’s a key selling point for the HiTech Integral Blind over competitor systems.”
He added: “We’re at a point where homeowners are asking for integral blinds, we aren’t necessarily having to promote them to them. The additional cost to the end-user is minimal and spread out over 10 years or so, negligible. We see it as very much a growing market.”
