Anglesey SOS

A production team from the BBC TV programme, DIY SOS, visited Anglesey recently to film a project to help a local family in distress. A number of local companies became involved, including Peninsula Home Improvements.

The week-long renovation of a cottage extension enabled a father and his four children to move back in after living in cramped conditions in a caravan in the garden for the last four years after starting an ambitious renovation that was halted by various life crises. The programme was broadcast during the Children In Need week in November 2009.

Commenting about his company’s contribution, Peninsula MD, Ken Grayson, said: “We were contacted by the BBC, who had been given our name by another company involved in the building project. We were more than happy to support such a worthy project that turned the family’s dream of having their own home again into a reality.”

Over the course of the week, Peninsula worked as part of the renovation team to install doors and windows in the cottage extension. Peninsula install products manufactured by Deceuninck fabricator, Dekko Window Systems.

Ken said, “Dekko is a relatively new company, but the experience of the management team means they know the value of a quality product and a quality service. The help they gave in this project was invaluable and showed a real understanding of the importance of community spirit.”

The window system Peninsula used in the installation was the Deceuninck 2800 decorative suite, manufactured by Dekko Window Systems.
