THE WINDOW COMPANY (CONTRACTS) has been awarded the Kitemark for window installation based on BS8213-4, claiming to be the first company to complete the Kitemark process as a new applicant since the publication of the 2016 version of the standard.
Director Katie Thornton, responsible for administering the company’s entire training programme, said: “The Kitemark is very much the gold standard for installation training so to be the first new recipient of the 2016 revised version is an incredible honour.
“As well as the obvious commercial benefits which we think it will deliver for us in terms of winning and retaining contracts, it has also helped us to create a continual professional development programme for every single member of staff for the first time. I think this will inevitably lead to even better performance and improved staff retention.
The Window Company (Contracts) has invested almost £100,000 in training this year, spread across more than 70 external training courses and a brand new apprenticeship programme, as well as in the production of an entirely new Survey and Installation Manual and standardised Toolbox Talks procedural documents.
