29th May 2012
Systems house Deceuninck has announced that it has been awarded Gold in Occupational Health and Safety by RoSPA in its award scheme that recognises achievements and excellence in work related health and safety performance by private and public sector organisations. Jon Skinner, Deceuninck Managing Director, said, “Winning this award is fantastic recognition for the hard work every member of the team puts in to ensure that health and safety good practice is embedded in everything they do.”
The award is the culmination of nearly five years work by Deceuninck Health and Safety and Training Coordinator, Lew Harvey, to ensure a culture of good health and safety throughout the business. He said, “We are very proud of this award, because it recognises our hard work and commitment to Health and Safety. Making our premises safer for our employees is a fabulous achievement, that’s for sure.”
For some time, Deceuninck have worked with external consultant Pauline Price CMIOSH MIIRSM, Risk Consultant Manager at Safety 2 Business. Pauline was so impressed by the company’s achievements that she suggested Deceuninck enter the RoSPA awards. Lew’s hard work and excellent results meant he was able to submit an impressive portfolio of evidence and the company was duly awarded Gold.
Jon Skinner concludes, “Part of our responsibility as employers is to ensure the health and safety of our staff when they’re at work. We are proud of our award, but we are even more proud to be able to say that our health and safety policies protect our biggest asset: our people.”
