DESPATCH SCANNING OPTIMISES LOADING AND DELIVERY
29th July 2014

Pioneer Trading is further increasing the quality of its overall service to the trade by adopting the innovative Mobile Despatch Screen. Employing the software will ensure even greater efficiency for both the delivery driver and customer, as it enables the products in transit to be tracked from the moment they leave the factory to the exact time of arrival on site.

The Mobile Despatch Screen software runs independently in each delivery vehicle’s cab; instead of having html frames showing the login, date and routes – or orders for routes – each stage can be moved to its own page for the user to navigate. Plus, the software makes it easy for each delivery job to be logged, with its own ID, enabling retrospective scrutiny if required.

Other advantages of utilizing the Mobile Despatch Screen is that it can show the driver the routes for the delivery day, while selecting an order on the screen will take them to a list of the items/extra packs and glass on each individual order. On this screen, a barcode field can be read by a mobile scanner integrated with the device, so that the driver knows exactly what is in the Lorry.

The adoption of Mobile Despatch Screen comes on top of Pioneer Trading’s recently acquired Bronze status in FORS: the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme operated by Transport for London. Overall, Pioneer’s adoption of the software will enable the delivery of an even more efficient service to its clients. This is in addition to the Tom Tom Webfleet system utilised at Pioneer monitoring driver performance and reducing journey times adding to Pioneer’s desire to be as eco-friendly as possible.
