A Wobbly Day Out with the cast of Emmerdale!
29th July 2014

Long-standing Network Veka member Thistle Windows and Conservatories, is not known for its 'wobbliness' and regularly wins customer satisfaction awards for the quality of its products and the service provided. However, on Saturday June 14th, the company was delighted to be associated with a very wobbly event!

The team at Thistle Windows were proud to sponsor an exciting day of events and activities with the goal to raise money to fund research into helping cure neurological disorders.

MD Ian Bruce explains: “Wobbly Williams and its sister charity, Funding Neuro were both founded by Bryn Williams following his diagnosis with Parkinson’s disease in 2007. The charities raise money for research focusing on finding more effective treatments and cures for brain and spinal conditions.

“We were happy not just to support the fun day held at Aberdeen’s famous Storybook Glen, but also to be actively involved, with Team Thistle going head-to-head against the cast of Emmerdale in the 'It’s A Wobbly Knockout' Team Challenge! Everyone threw themselves into the events with great enthusiasm and as good hosts we, of course, took it easy on the Emmerdale cast who ended up top of the leader board at the end of the day!

“Everyone seemed to have a fantastic time and the Emmerdale cast were all very friendly, taking pictures with visitors and making sure everyone was enjoying themselves.”

The event continued into the evening with 'A Wobbly Banquet with The Cast of Emmerdale' which was held in a luxury marquee at the Thainstone House Hotel in Inverurie. More than 400 guests were in attendance with live music and entertainment provided by the Emmerdale Cast Band - the fun and fundraising continued well into the early hours of morning.

“We were all moved by Brynn Williams who spoke at length about his own experiences with Parkinson’s disease and his inspiring efforts to help others. We are extremely proud to have had the opportunity to help Brynn’s charities in raising over £100,000 through the events.” Ian added.
