Aluminium systems supplied by ALUPROF were specified for the 14-storey Hotel Indigo Manchester, adjacent to an existing and sympathetically restored Victorian Grade II listed City Buildings.
Aluprof MB-SR50N Curtain Wall ‘effekt’ (cap-less) system in grey powder coat finish was used from ground to 2nd floor with unitised curtain wall system to the ten storeys above. The sub-contract for the design, testing, fabrication and installation of the facade was completed by Aluprof and CSI of Hull. The main contractor on the development was Bowmer & Kirkland. The hotel was opened to customers earlier this year.
Maarten Kleinhout, director of CSI said, “ In view of the tight site, building movement and rigorous performance criteria, the use of unitised stick curtain walling to the majority of the façade was obvious. Our early collaboration with 3Dreid, Bowmer and Kirkland and Aluprof technical teams allowed the design intent to be proficiently translated into a viable and performing façade scheme which we are proud to be associated with.”
