Synseal selects TruPlas for Global Glass Wigan

Following Synseal’s acquisition of the business and assets of Prospect Inc. Ltd trading as Systems Glass to create Global Glass Wigan, it has become the latest company to switch to TruPlas rigid spacer bar manufactured by Edgetech, a Quanex company.

Synseal started Global Glass operations in November 2011 and began to use volume quantities of TruPlas rigid spacer bar last year. So when it acquired Systems Glass earlier this year it immediately made additional investment plans to increase the existing capacity from 9,000 IGUs per week and turned to Edgetech once again to support them in switching to the superior performance of TruPlas.

“Having an additional well-placed IGU manufacturing facility at Wigan will assist us in offering the full range of Synseal products to our customer base in the north. IGUs are an important part of our product mix and are helping to drive significant sales growth,” says Steve Musgrave, Synseal’s Manufacturing Director. “Synseal has been making sealed units with TruPlas rigid spacer bar for a fair while now, so gearing up our new Global Glass Wigan operation to start using TruPlas was an easy decision for us.

“We have a strong working relationship with Edgetech and TruPlas rigid spacer bar has proven to be a high performing warm edge spacer bar, so we were confident when committing the necessary investments to provide new production machinery for Global Glass Wigan.”
