Chris Beedel joins Fensa
28th March 2017

FENSA has announced the appointment of Chris Beedel as Director of Membership.

The organisation says “Chris arrives at a time of renewed focus on member services and will look to build on the organisation’s position as the largest self-certification scheme in the sector, whilst ensuring members feel the full benefit of new and existing services.

“Chris’s appointment will give the organisation an advocate with a wealth of external experience who can pass a critical eye over its current operations and ensure members can engage with the organisation easily. He has already led the way in overhauling the registration for new members by streamlining the process, and intends to increase member participation in industry events such as the FIT show.”

Chris has over 25 years of experience in working with certification bodies, having been involved with Competent Persons Schemes since their inception in 2002. He has previously held roles in a range of organisations outside the glazing industry, most recently as Corporate Affairs Director at Certsure LLP. Prior to this, he also held positions at the Electrical Contractors’ Association and the Building Research Establishment, where he played a key part in developing and launching their third-party certification bodies.

Jon Vanstone, Director of Fensa, said: “We are delighted that Chris has joined Fensa as Director of Membership. He has over 25 years’ experience in third party certification in the engineering and construction sectors and was instrumental in establishing Competent Person Schemes 12 years ago.”

“FENSA is undergoing a period of positive change as we seek to revamp our offer to members and encourage others to join the largest and most effective self-certification body in the sector; Chris will be central to helping deliver on this.”

Chris Beedel, replied: “My new role presents a great opportunity to support Fensa in continuing to expand its membership and brand recognition across the glazing industry. Fensa has a range of exciting new services in the pipeline designed to help member installers build their customer base and I’m looking forward to delivering them over the next few months”
