Bowater Architectural catches the CAB
28th February 2012

Bowater Architectural – the curtain walling and aluminium window brand of the VEKA Group – is now a member of the Council for Aluminium in Building (CAB).
Formed in 1994, CAB is now the largest UK aluminium in building trade association with well over 100 members across the supply chain and provides services such as technical information, guidance on regulations, standards, best practice and its publications.

Bowater Architectural encompasses the high performance ranges of System10 aluminium windows and curtain walling solutions and offers these to architects and specifiers throughout the UK and Ireland.  Its speciality is providing innovative solutions that meet the current agenda for sustainability and high thermal performance combined with high aesthetic principles.

The wider group is renowned for energy efficient fenestration solutions and, in System10, has a very strong brand in the public and social housing sectors that exemplifies its resourceful approach to reducing production costs while improving thermal efficiency.

System10 Aluminium, for instance, is a quality-engineered system that looks like an aluminium window but exceeds the installation and maintenance criteria of ‘traditional’ products and delivers energy efficiency benefits way beyond those previously experienced. Such is the high performance of the system that the System10 Aluminium Window achieves levels three to six (essentially future-proofing it) of the Code for Sustainable Homes with an unbeatable – for aluminium – U-value as low as 0.7 W/m2K.

Similarly, System10 Curtain Walling not only enhances thermal and acoustic performance of buildings but also reduces the need for cyclic maintenance. It also delivers improved safety, security and weather performance, so the end user benefits from reduced costs and improved sustainability. System10 Curtain Walling offers U-Values ranging from 1.5 W/m2K, with 28mm glazing units, to a superb 1.0 W/m2K with 32mm triple-glazed units (both based on a 50mm mullion). It combines fully with System10 Aluminium windows and doors so that buildings can be fully upgraded regardless of system requirements.
