J & K Glass and Glazing upgrade with new ROTOX In-Line Welder
28th February 2012

As one of Norfolk’s longest standing fabricators of PVC- u and sealed units, J & K Glass and Glazing Ltd., have recently invested in a new ROTOX SMK 505-4K in-line welder, supplied and installed by WINMAC UK.

Manufacturing approximately 300 windows per week using the system supplied by Liniar Profiles, J & K Glass are producing high quality “A”-Rated windows and hand in hand with this, have on a steady basis confirmed that commitment to manufacturing by making steady investment over the years. The new ROTOX welder is an addition to their already existing range of ROTOX machines supplied and installed by WINMAC such as the popular CNC Corner and Transom cleaner EKA 379, together with their 4 head semi-automatic drainage router FWS 281/4

Having manufactured for so many years, the time comes when machinery just starts to wear out and eventually requires replacement and this was the case with J & K Glass, where their original in-line welder, originally supplied by another machinery company, simply wore out.

John Engledon – MD of J & K Glass, recognized that he needed a welder that would be built to last and also have the flexibility to work between combinations of corners and transoms together with turret facility and to do so quickly and accurately and this is exactly what the ROTOX SMK 505-4K welder provides.

John is impressed with the ease of adjusting the heads into its turret position and also the fact that there is no requirement for external tools when fixing corner fences on the transom head, ready to accept contour welding blocks. This gives ultimate accuracy and no wearing out of screw fixing holes on welding heads. Further flexibility is the ability to weld smaller transom drops due to the slim-line head design.

In a market where obtaining correct partnerships is at its most important, WINMAC UK look forward to supporting and continuing such a partnership with J & K Glass and Glazing  as they continue in their success.
