Fabricator network expanded
Wicona Projects is expanding its network of fabricators in the UK, with the announcement that AC Yule is to move into unitised and more complex facade projects.
With more than 60 years’ experience in the industry, the AC Yule Group is a large glass processor and supplier of aluminium and pvcu glazing products in the UK.
This new initiative will expand AC Yule’s range of services into the fabrication and installation of more bespoke and unitised facades for larger and high rise commercial schemes and fast-track contracts, using Wicona’s highly engineered systems.
AC Yule will be investing in a dedicated production facility for the fabrication of Wicona facades, and is already in negotiations on a number of major projects.
“Our decision to move into unitised façades and work with Wicona is part of our long-term strategic growth, and will ensure we are well placed to take advantage of new commercial opportunities”, said Bryan Yule, managing director of the AC Yule Group.
“The Wicona approach fits very well with our existing business, and, importantly, gives clear cost and efficiency benefits, particularly for city centre sites, to contractors and developers – our customers. It also offers considerable design flexibility for architects, and is tried and tested across Europe and internationally.”
Bob Welsh, general manager of Wicona Projects, said: “Our aim is to bring all the advantages of off-site construction to the building envelope by maximising work in the factory, to meet the increasing demands for shorter programmes, combined with superior quality control and innovative aesthetics.”
