See the light

Skylight Solutions offers a product range that meets today’s architectural trend for designing buildings that let in as much light as possible. According to managing director, Robert Culley, despite the current economy, business is still as brisk as ever, and he made the decision last year to invest in an Elumatec SBZ122 CNC machining centre.

“With a growing order book, we needed a machine that would increase product capacity, improve on accuracy and maintain consistency,” he explained. “Having purchased Elumatec equipment throughout our eight-year history, we knew that reliability and quality were assured. With our increased productivity, we had the choice of taking on more staff and training them up but with all the facts in front of us, we decided that installing the Elumatec SBZ122 would be more cost efficient in the long run and would suit our needs better.”

The decision was influenced by the fact that the machine’s easy programming capability, allows it to be used for both one off and high volume components. Since its commissioning in December 2008, Robert has seen the difference that it has made to the manufacturing process.
