Dear Nathan

Rockdoor is pleased to announce the industry’s 1st AAA+ energy rated door.

Well not really, but it’s a good headline.

When the BFRC officially decide/announce the testing criteria in October we’ll be working hard to provide our customers one of the first legitimate energy rated doors available.

In order for any composite door manufacturer to ‘promote’ an energy rated door we must first of all await the publication of the testing/calculation criteria, which the BRFC have confirmed is not currently available.

We look forward to seeing it when it’s released and working with our testing partners to achieve energy ratings across all our doors.

On a serious note, it’s absolutely crucial installers and homeowners aren’t misled in an industry perceived to have a lack of credibility. DERs will give us credibility and this shouldn’t be watered down by inaccurate headlines, misleading quotes and doctored images of James Strawbridge.

The BFRC have been working hard to launch DERs which will be crucial to the composite door industry. They are the next big step we’ve been waiting for, and they will provide installers with a simple and effective way to demonstrate to homeowners just how energy efficient a particular door is ... if done properly.

Best regards

Mark Simm
