Sid bows out with gifts for young carers

More than 400 Sid the Seal toys, based on the mascot of North East installer WARMSEAL are being shared out among young carers around the company’s base because Sid is being retired from its branding after over 30 years.

Director Steve Miller explained that the company had bought hundreds of the toys to give to customers but has now introduced new branding without the familiar seal – which left nearly 450 Sids still in the warehouse.

The toys have now been distributed through the South Tyneside Young Carers Project as well as Young Carers groups throughout the North East.

Karen Ahmed, manager of South Tyneside Young Carers, said: “Young carers are a disadvantaged group and are often overlooked. We thank Warmseal for its kind donation and appreciate all support which helps to raise awareness and the profile of young carers.”

Sid’s pride of place is now giving way to radio campaign is based on the Stevie Wonder song ‘Signed, Sealed Delivered’
