The new wave of doors
27th November 2012

Owner of Legacy Windows in Bristol, Ray Green, is launching New Wave Doors. It’s a next generation door that does everything that bi-folding doors do, Ray says, and a lot more, but without their well-known problems and limitations.

The door has been endorsed by Kevin Harvey, Managing Director of Avocet Hardware, who says; “As soon as I saw it I knew I was looking at the future: the successor to the bi-fold. Why would you choose a bi-fold if you could have this, Ray asked? And you wouldn’t. This New Wave door isn’t a small improvement; it leaves bi-folds in the dust. That’s clear to everyone who’s seen it. It is truly next generation and the most exciting development in doors I’ve seen.

When I got back to Brighouse I couldn’t get it out of my head, and I just had to be part of it. I didn’t just want to supply some hardware and watch from the side lines.

“But I had a job, and a busy one at that, as MD of Avocet Hardware. After a week or two I couldn’t ignore the door, or Ray’s requests to become a part of New Wave so I discussed it openly with Avocet’s chairman and owner VK Jain, the Chairman of Atlantic Group. It would not be true to say he was thrilled when I said I wanted to run Avocet as MD and help Ray, as part of New Wave, to bring this revolutionary door to market. But he did agree, and from December 1st I’m dividing my time between New Wave and Avocet!

“The New Wave door is supplied as a kit with hardware,” Kevin confirms, “and we are already talking to fabricators. I have never seen anything like the response. People, especially those with experience of aluminium and PVC bi-folding doors, want to sell it because it is so much better for fabricators, installers and homeowners.”
